With "My Partner Compact" as its design theme, the Daihatsu Boon is the fruit of a development collaboration between Daihatsu and Toyota, and is also sold under the latter as the Toyota Passo. The first generation of Daihatsu Boons (initially released in 2004) received either a 1.0L inline three-cylinder or a 1.3L inline four-cylinder for outputs of 70 hp and 89 hp, respectively. These are joined to a four-speed automatic transmission and feature a FF layout, while the 1.0L also comes in 4WD as an option. Fuel efficiency ranges from 18.0 to 21.0 km/l. The more recent 2019 Daihatsu Boon is loaded with a 1.0L water-cooled inline three-cylinder engine mated to a CVT and in either a FF or 4WD layout, making 68 hp and achieving a class-topping fuel efficiency (for petrol engine cars) of 24 to 28 km/l thanks to the use of e:S technology.
Standard equipment for the 2019 Boon includes power windows, steering tilt mechanism, and central door locking system, while standard safety features such as front driver and passenger airbags, ABS, traction control, EBD, VSC and brake assist come housed in the Boon's lightweight, rigid body. Daihatsu is a boon to drive when you get yours at BE FORWARD!
