And all at a compelling price point – these are the concepts that the Hyundai Sonata has realized since debuting in South Korea in 1985, and which have allowed the domestically best-selling middle sized Hyundai Sonata to also achieve a high level of popularity in the North American and European markets, with its 5th generation achieving sales of more than 230,000 units around the world.
Housed in its voluminous 4.8m by 1.83m body is a series 4 cylinder DOHC 2.4L engine with CVVT (continuous variable valve timing) that produces a maximum of 164 horsepower, and a maximum torque of 23.1kgm. The Sonata makes use of a Shiftronic electronically controlled 4 speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive, and comes in two grades – the premium 2.4GLS and the standard 2.4GL. Sparing no expense, the 2.4GHLS is also available in the luxurious L package that equips the Sonata with 17 inch aluminum wheels, a glass sunroof, and heated leather seats. In the interior of the GLS models, the instrument panel is bisected by a stylish trim, and is installed with a 6 CD changer as standard. In addition to driver and front passenger seat airbags, the Sonata also features industry leading safety features like front side airbags, side curtain airbags, with the GLS additionally featuring the ESP electronic stability program. The Sonata is ready to be your new sedan here at BE FORWARD!
