The S type is Jaguar's medium-sized sporty saloon powered by one of three engine units – a 4.2L 304HP or 406HP V8 DOHC, or a 3L 243 HP V6 DOHC, and coupled with Jaguar's legendary J gate shifter ZF 6-speed automatic transmission. In its lineup are the 3.0 Executive, the 3.0 V6 SE, the 4.2 Sovereign, and the R. Apart from the R which achieves a fuel efficiency of 6.6 km/l, each of the S-types have fuel efficiencies of 7.2 km/l.
Each model in the lineup overflows with their own individual personality. In typical Jaguar fashion, 3.0 Executive is luxuriously furnished with sleek bronze wood panels, leather seats, and navigation system as standard, creating a refined interior reminiscent of the classic British car. The 4.2L Sovereign is finished with premium soft-grey leather seats applied with piping, and luxury walnut. Finally, the speedy S-type R is fitted with monotone or two tone leather R performance sports seats. Safety features of the S type include dual, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with emergency brake assist (EBA), traction control, electronic brake distribution (EBD), dynamic stability control (DCS), ARTS, and anti-theft immobilizer system.
