Since its introduction in the early 70‘s, the basic recipe behind Toyota's specialty sports car, the Celica, remained unchanged throughout its life span, apart from the drivetrain which went from RWD to FF during the mid ‘80s. The exterior changed significantly though with each revision, bringing with it an even more aerodynamic design. While an inline-four engine has always powered the Celica, this too received improvements with the final 7th generation (ZZT230) offering the same Yamaha-developed 1.8L engine as either 140 horsepower or 192 horsepower.
