The Toyota Chaser is a four-door sedan that shares the same chassis as the Mark II and Cresta. Since its release in 1977, the Chaser has gone through six generations up until 2001, when it was discontinued. However, it was only in its second generation that the Chaser truly found its identity as the sporty one among the three. While the Mark II had four rectangular headlights, the Chaser was given two non-standard headlights to complement its slant-nose styling. The second generation also saw the Avante trim with Michelin tires and sports-tuned suspension being introduced.
Since then, the Chaser has only built upon this classification with turbocharged engines being offered beginning with the GT trim, as well as the 2.5L 1JZ engine found in the performance Supra, making its appearance in the Avante G and GT Twin Turbo trims. For its sixth and final generation, the Chaser gets a lineup of five engines: 1.8L 118 hp in the XL trims, 2.0L 158 hp, 2.5L 197 hp, 2.5L 276 hp turbo, and 3.0L 217 hp. Fuel efficiency ranges from 9.6 to 12.0 km/l.
Sixth-generation Chasers get the driver and front passenger seat airbags, brake assist, ABS, power windows, and central door lock system as standard. If you demand performance from your vehicle, you can't go wrong with a Toyota Chaser. Get yours at BE FORWARD!
