The Verossa came into production as a way for Toyota to consolidate several of the company’s aging sedans and saloons including the Cresta, the Chaser, and the Mark 2 into one model. Inheriting much of its predecessors' exterior and interior features, the Verossa features the same drivetrain layout with a front engine and rear wheel drive, inline 6 cylinder engines (most notably the popular 1JZ-GTE engine), and also came with premium/luxury trim grades. Additionally, the Verossa also offered a full-time 4WD option, although the choice of gearboxes was limited to manual for the turbocharged 2500cc 1JZ-GTE (GH-JZX110) and automatic for the rest (TA-GX110).
Stately and popular with businesspeople, the uniquely designed Toyota Verossa offers a combination of power, luxury, and tidiness within a medium-sized sedan. Standard features of the Verossa include a secure anti-lock braking system, HID headlights, as well as optional aluminium wheels. Other notable interior features found across the different grades of the Toyota Verossa include a convenient multi-adjustable electronically powered driver's seat, wood grain panels across the instrument cluster and the dashboard, as well as more premium or luxury features which include electronics such a built-in TV, and an optional DVD voice navigation system.
With such a tremendous feel of luxury and sporty vibe, the Toyota Verossa still manages to offer an impressive fuel economy of 11.9km/L. You can cruise across town without worrying about too many stops at the pump.
