The Daihatsu Be-Go is the perfect balance of the compact 5-door SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) concept combined with the usability of a wagon. It is known in other areas as the Toyota Rush with Daihatsu as the original equipment manufacturer. The engine is 1.5L in-line-four DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) fueled with 109 ps/ 14.4 kgm (CBA-J200G) gasoline. The transmissions are a choice between a 5-speed manual, 4-speed AT with FR (Front Engine Rear Drive) drive trains, or a Full-time 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) with center differential-locks. Safety devices include dual airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution).
The lineup consists of a manual air conditioner and dial-type heater control panel, "CX Special" equipped with a 16-inch full wheel cap (steel), rear spoiler (with high-mount LED stop lamp), and "CX Limited" equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. 2010 models feature keyless entry (with radio wave and answer back function) as standard equipment. CX versions come standard with 16-inch aluminum wheels, and CX Limited versions flaunt a full range of equipment such as discharge headlamps and rear spoilers (with high-mount LED stop lamps). In 2008 Daihatsu improved the Be-Go's aerodynamic characteristics, idling speed, etc., to increase the fuel efficiency by about 6% in AT models, with the 4WD model achieving a 10 to 15 mode fuel consumption of 14.8 km/l on average, enhancing its environmental performance.
