The Honda CR-X is a short-lived three-door sports compact coupe produced from 1983 to 1991. It comes in an aerodynamic, low and wide body that offers a stable driving position.
Initially released with a 1.3L 60 hp inline four-cylinder engine in its base model, later CR-X models get either a 1.5L or 1.6L engine at the start of its second generation in 1987, giving it outputs of 104 hp and 128 hp, respectively. These engines come mated to either a 5MT or 4AT. For its second generation, the wheelbase has been enlarged in both length and diameter, while the four-wheel double-wishbone suspension is adopted, two changes that give the CR-X more cargo space and better handling.
Beginning in 1989, the CR-X receives an update to its front fascia that includes new bumpers and headlights. Additionally, a 1.6L premium gasoline VTEC 158 hp engine has been added to the lineup, for a total of three engine options. For the specialty 1.5X Style S, a CD audio player comes as standard, while the body receives a two-tone treatment, getting slick gold paint on the base of its bumpers.
