The Honda Edix, also known as the Honda FR-V, is an innovative minivan with a 3x2 (three seating by two rows) seating layout with short overall length and ample width that was in production from 2004-2009. The engines are in-line-four SOHC (Single Overhead Cam) 1.7-Liter gasoline (CBA-BE1) with 130ps/15.8kgm and in-line-four DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) 2.0-Liter gasoline (DBA-BE3) 156ps/19.2kgm. The transmission is 5AT with the drive trains FF (Front Wheel Drive) or 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) to choose from.
There are 4 variations of combinations for the displacement and drive system, 2000cc "20X 4WD" and "20X", 1700cc "17X 4WD" and "17X". Starting in 2005, the "S Package" also became available. Features for this package included discharge headlights <HID> (high / low beam with auto leveling mechanism), fog light, colored tailgate spoiler, and a genuine leather steering wheel.
Thanks to its wide tread, the minimum turning circle is only 4.9 meters (1.7-Liter models). Safety devices are dual airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) as standard equipment. All types of the Edix conform to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism 2005 Emission Regulations. In particular, the 20X has been certified with a 75% reduction level in 2005 exhaust gas standards and the 17X has been certified with a 50% reduction level in 2005 exhaust gas standards.
