The Mitsubishi Pajero IO is a popular cross-country vehicle released replacing Pajero Jr. It runs well off-road like Pajero, and it is compact and easy to drive like Pajero Jr. It was named IO (meaning “me” in Italian), because it is a user-friendly car. The Pajero IO combines an affordable compact size body with easy-to-handle and full-fledged off-road performance. It seats a capacity of 5 people in the 5-door long body. The engine mounted in later models is a 3 unit engine with 2L DOHC with a direct injection GDI specification of 136 horsepower as well as a 1.8L DOHC turbo with 160 horsepower and 1.8L with 116 horsepower. As mentioned above, the drive system is a full-time 4WD with two types, the 1.8L and 2L / 1.8L turbo GDI specification, which has a system called "super select 4WD-i", 2WD with rear wheels, center differential 4WD (high gear and low gear) which can be selected.

As safety equipment, dual airbags, ABS, EBD (electronically controlled braking force distribution device), seatbelts with pretensioner and force limiter are installed as standard on all vehicles. Pajero IO models are also equipped with anti-theft security alarm system in all models.
