The Volvo S60 is positioned between S40 and S80 as a midsize sedan in the lineup featuring aerodynamically efficient streamline 4-door shape with CD (Coefficient of Drag) value 0.28. The more recent 2016 edition of the S60 arrives with either a 1.5L 150 hp IC gasoline turbocharged inline four-cylinder or a 2.0L 187 hp IC turbocharged inline four-cylinder (gasoline and diesel editions available). Going back to previous model years, such as 2012, sees the S40 coming installed with either a 1.6L 176 hp gasoline inline four-cylinder IC turbocharged or a 3.0L 300 hp gasoline IC turbocharged inline six-cylinder unit. Both engines for 2012 are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, with the 1.6L model using an FF configuration and the 3.0L variant coming with full-time 4WD. Fuel efficiency for the 2012 S60 ranges from 8.5 to 13.6 km/l.
