The Kei is Suzuki's active light passenger car that flaunts 4 doors and a hatchback, and wide-rimmed tires fitted onto a SUV-like body. Installed in the Kei is an all-aluminum 660cc direct 3 cylinder DOHC 12 valve 54 horsepower with variable valve timing (VVT), or either a 60 horsepower middle-low speed torque oriented or 64 horsepower high-powered sports unit with intercooler turbo. The Suzuki Kei comes in both FF and full time 4WD, and floor shift 4 speed AT or 5 speed MT.
In the lineup of Keis from 2003 onward are the base model A and the B turbo (equipped with an air intake hood). The A is equipped with driver and front passenger seat airbags, CD player with AM/FM capabilities and more, while the B turbo has additional 14 inch tires, electronically controlled door mirrors, and optional 4WD. Environmentally friendly, the A has also reduced the levels of harmful exhaust emissions like non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) and nitrous oxide in response to emission standards, with the B turbo similarly receiving recognition for its emission levels 25% lower than emission standards.
