The 7 SERIES is BMW’s flagship luxury saloon/sedan range of cars, first produced in 1977. Being a flagship model, the newer versions of the 7 SERIES measure in at more than 5m long and around 2m wide, and 7 Series models continue to be upgraded with sleek features with each generation. Powering this impressively sized sedan, for the most part, are a range of equally impressive ‘V’ engines; 4800cc (ABA-HL48) and 3600cc (GH-GL36) being the most popular choices. As for the interior, you can expect to find all the modern luxuries including a multi-function steering wheel, leather interior, parking sensors, navigation, etc.
7 Series models, starting in 2009, adopted integrated active steering, a front and rear wheel control steering system that combines active steering and speed sensitive rear axle steering for ease of driving at any speed. Available across 7 Series 740i vehicles produced from the same time onward, is the "plus package" equipped with an automatic trunk lid operation, BMW night vision with pedestrian detection function, lane departure warning to let other drivers know where you are headed to keep you and those around safe. All 6-speed AT, 740Li models are only available with righthand steering, however, other left and right steering wheel specifications can be selected.
