The Subaru Legacy B4 is Japan's most popular sports sedan. The name B4 stands for boxer and four, which is a reference to the cars boxer engine and all-wheel drive. The B4 can be had with a twin-turbo four-cylinder engine, making it extremely quick. The Legacy B4 brings rally car performance to the street.

The Legacy became the fourth generation of vehicles from Subaru with the theme of "a fusion of running function and beauty". As of the mid 2000s, the Legacy offered two body types, the Touring Wagon and the Sports Sedan B4. Improvements were made in steering stability during this time as well, with the total width being set to 1,730 mm and extending the tread of the wheelbase.

The Legacy B4 also offers excellent aerodynamic performance no matter the generation or grade. The B4 is a variation of 2.0GT, with a 18-inch aluminum, dedicated grill and spoiler in a single turbo car. Meanwhile, the GT grade is equipped with an inverted Bilstein damper to improve the sports performance.

As for safety equipment and extra features, the Legacy B4 is equipped with side and curtain airbags on all cars, and DVD navigation with 7-inch touch panel display. The turbo grades are equipped with safety equipment such as VDC (vehicle dynamics control) that stabilizes vehicle behavior, genuine leather seats. Extra features such as Macintosh sound system and other comfort equipment is also installed on some cars as an option. The highest standard "Ultra low emission (U-LEV)" for SOHC vehicles (regular gasoline specification) and the "good-low emission (G-LEV)" for other models was also acquired by the Legacy B4.
