The Honda Step WGN is a unique box minivan simply because it has a short width but makes with a tall cabin height. It is also designed with a low flooring and a low center of gravity which helps in its handling and ride comfort. The spacious interior with lots of headroom is ideal for long items and cargo. The car is powered by an inline-four engine for drivability. From 2005, the transmission is set to CVT while the AT is available until 2012. Choose between the FWD and the 4WD system.
2 sizes are available for the Step Wagon's 4 cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engines – 2 and 2.4L. Depending on the model, the Step Wagon is able to achieve fuel efficiencies of between 11.2km/l to 12.6km/l. As a vehicle that can easily transport disabled and/or elderly passengers, the Step Wagon has the options of an 8-seat configuration with a lift-up front passenger seat, or a 7-seat configuration with a lift up side seat. While the 2L models only come with 4 speed AT, the 2.4L model is available also in a CVT with paddle shift version. In some of the more premium models, a sunroof with UV protection and privacy glass can be fitted.
