The Volkswagen Passat is the automaker's flagship sedan of its lineup. 3 engine types are available: 2L FSI inline-four DOHC gasoline (GH-3CBVY) with 150ps/20.4kgm, 2L FSI DOHC intercooler turbo gasoline (GH-3CAXX) 200ps/28.6kgm and 3.2L FSI V6 DOHC gasoline (GH-3CAXZF) 250ps/33.1kgm. The transmissions are 6-speed automatic with tiptronic with FF for 2L models and 6-speed DSG 4MOTION full-time 4WD for 3.2L model. The suspension consists of MacPherson struts in the front, and 4-link in the rear. In addition to ABS, ESP has been added as a new safety device.
