The transmission is an improvement to Super CVT-i which was adopted by the predecessor to the Axio, which judges deceleration and turning force from the G sensor of the vehicle and suppresses unnecessary upshift. Newer models of the Corolla Axio have been reduced in length by 50 mm (from 60 mm), while the body has been made more compact with small turning, the rear knee space in the Axio was enlarged by 40 mm and offers a relaxed and comfortable indoor space.
