The CR-X del Sol was produced from 1992 to 1998, ending after its first generation. It was launched as the successor to the CR-X compact coupe.
The CR-X del Sol is most known for its removable aluminum hardtop as well as its engine, which comes in either a 1.6L DOHC VTEC inline four-cylinder capable of 168 hp in its SiR trim, or a 1.5L SOHC VTEC inline four-cylinder that produces 128 hp in its VXi trim. Both of these trims are available with either a 4AT or 5MT. Additionally, the CR-X del Sol is available with a TransTop as an option. This is an electric mechanism that folds the hardtop into the trunk in only 45 seconds, eliminating the need to manually remove it. Fuel efficiency ranges from 12.0 to 15.8 km/l. Japan Domestic Market (JDM) optional equipment includes a traction control system and limited-slip differential, while a rear spoiler, power steering, and more are also available.
