The Volkswagen Polo has sold more than 12 million cars globally since its introduction in 1975. Starting in the Polo's second generation, the line-up includes a standard model "TSI Comfortline", a high-grade "TSI Highline" that has a sporty atmosphere, "Cross Polo (Cross Polo)" with SUV styling, and a sporty model, the "GTI".
The power unit is a type of 1.2L TSI single charger engine that combines low fuel consumption and high power performance, and 1.4L TSI twin-charger engine powered up by special tuning. With a direct injection (in-cylinder direct injection) FSI and a supercharger, combining a seven-speed DSG transmission that achieves a smooth, unbroken acceleration.
The Polo's 3rd generation (including the new GTI) demonstrates 179 hp with 1.4 L DOHC turbo + supercharger. With the previous generation (1.8 L turbo), the ratio the power increased to 29 horsepower while improving fuel economy by 26%. As for the exterior of later models, the GTI boasts a traditional honeycomb front grille, red line and special bumper with a rear spoiler, chrome dual exhaust pipe and more. As for the interior, the Polo is equipped a number of exclusive items such as a GTI dedicated steering wheel, shift knob, meter cluster, and top sports seats with plaid check pattern.
