Nearly 16 years after the production of its 2nd generation came to an end, the compact and stylish sports coupe, Scirocco, was revived in its 3rd generation by Volkswagen in 2008, complete with a 1420 mm tall and 1810 mm wide three-door hatchback body featuring Volkswagen's new brand face. In its earlier model years of this latest generation, the Scirocco comes powered by either a 1.4L 158 hp inline four-cylinder IC Turbo S Charger engine in its TSI trim, or a 2.0L 197 hp inline four-cylinder IC turbocharged engine in the 2.0TSI. For its more recent model years, such as the 2012, the Scirocco lineup features 7AT DSG trims - the TSI with a 1.4L 160 hp TSI engine, and R Line with 1.4L 160 hp TSI twin charger as well as a 6AT DSG high-performance R trim with 2L 256 hp turbo engine. Fuel efficiency for the 3rd generation Scirocco ranges from 12.1 to 15.8 km/l.

Standard features include power windows, a genuine leather steering wheel and cruise control. Safety features for the 3rd generation Scirocco come in the form of front driver, front passenger and side airbags, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stabilization Program, Driving Steering Recommendation and more.
