No, this is called transshipment. If you see two shipping vessels listed on your CAP, your cargo will be loaded onto one vessel when departing from Japan and will be reloaded onto another prior to reaching its destination. This decision is made by the contracted shipping companies, and we, as exporters, do not have authority to intervene with their decisions.

Please note that transshipped cargo usually takes longer to travel from Japan to its final destination.

Port of Discharge: Your nearest port where the vessel will unload your cargo.

Vehicle Destination: Where the vehicle will actually be used. Please provide the name of the country where the vehicle will be registered for use.

Mjumbe: This is the vehicle's "owner-to-be." Please list the consignee's full name as well as the "real" name shown on his/her passport or ID, full address (without any abbreviations), and phone number(s). To receive your B/L from the shipping company, it is mandatory that all of the consignee's information above be provided.

Also, when providing us with your booking information, it is important to understand the following:

● Your booking will be delayed by the shipping company if the consignee's full name and address are not provided. Complete information must be provided.
● The consignee's name cannot have any spelling mistakes. Even the smallest error can be subject to a B/L amendment, which may cost you additional fees and time.

Arifu Chama: This is the person that the shipping agent contacts to notify the confirmed arrival date of your vessel to the port. If you have a private clearing agent, you may list them here, though it is not mandatory as you do not need to declare a clearing agent on the B/L. If you have not hired an agent, it is easiest to simply write in "Same as Consignee".

DHL Delivery Address: This information is required so that we can mail your documents, including your B/L, by DHL courier. Please provide the full name of the recipient, full address (without any abbreviations), and phone number(s). Please be warned that incomplete information may delay the dispatch of your documents.

You need to verify that your client has an Import Permit from the ITAC and a Letter of Authority (LOA) from the NRCS before purchasing a vehicle on his/her behalf. The South African government has very strict regulations that allow only certified suppliers, who have obtained an Import Permit and LOA, to import foreign vehicles.

Because our staff is continually processing dispatches from opening to closing each business day, this may mean that your dispatch is processed after the last scheduled DHL pickup for the day, and will therefore be picked up on the next business day.

Please note that even if you have successfully imported a vehicle without providing your postal code in the past, it does not guarantee that it will not be needed with future shipments as each shipping vessel's sailing route is different.

CIF: Cost, Insurance, and Freight; a term of sale signifying that the price invoiced or quoted by a seller includes insurance and all other charges up to the named port of discharge.

Utoaji wa Jiji: A service provided by BE FORWARD for transferring the vehicle from the port of discharge to a designated city/border for delivery to the consignee.

Wakala wa kusafisha: A person or company authorized by international customs authorities to certify and manage consignments between countries. (i.e., They handle the customs clearing processes for your car.)

Ankara ya Biashara: A document required by customs to determine the true value of the imported goods for assessment of duties and taxes.

Mjumbe: A person who will be the "owner" of the car after it is registered in the destination country.

Cheti cha Usajili: Angalia Cheti cha Kuuza nje.

Anwani ya Utoaji ya DHL: Delivery address for the shipping documents (not the vehicle) to be used by BE FORWARD to dispatch documents to the vehicle's buyer.

EAA: East Africa Automobile Services; a pre-export inspection company authorized by the Tanzanian Standard Bureau (TBS) and Ugandan National Standard Bureau (UNBS).

ETA: Estimated Time of Arrival; the date and time in which an air or ship journey is expected to arrive at a named city or port.

ETD: Estimated Time of Departure; the date and time in which an air or ship journey is expected to depart from a named city or port.

Cheti cha kuuza nje: A document that confirms the noted items are being legally exported from their country of origin (i.e., the car's previous registration in Japan has been cancelled).

Kibali cha kuuza nje: A document issued by the Japanese Customs Office that ensures the shipment is in compliance with applicable export control measures.

FOB: 1) BE FORWARD bei ya gari lenyewe. 2) Free on Board; a term of sale under which the price invoiced or quoted by a seller includes all charges up to placing the goods on board a ship at the port of departure.

Usambazaji wakala: A person or company that arranges the transportation of cargo from the port of discharge to the vehicle's destination country.

Ingiza Kibali: A document issued by certain governments giving permission to import goods. The South African government requires this document, which is issued by the ITAC, for importing vehicles, as well as a Letter of Authority (LOA), which is issued by the NRCS.

Cheti cha Ukaguzi: Certification that the vehicle passed the required pre-export inspection and, therefore, meets the required specifications and is in good condition and correct quantity when leaving the port of departure.

Hati ya Bima: Uthibitisho wa bima kwa usafirishaji wa CIF.

Intertek: Intertek International Ltd.; a company solely appointed by the Government of Mozambique to carry out pre-shipment inspections on all imported vehicles.

ITAC: International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa; an organization that manages the administration of international trade in South Africa. Its primary responsibilities include import and export control. The South African government requires an Import Permit for importing vehicles, which is issued by the ITAC, as well as a Letter of Authorization (LOA), which is issued by the NRCS.

JEVIC: Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Center Co., Ltd.; a Japanese-registered company that specializes in pre-shipment inspection and certification of cargo. The inspection certificate issued by this organization is required by the Kenyan government and Zambian government for importing vehicles into their respective countries.

LOA: Letter of Authority; a document required by certain governments for importing a vehicle. The South African government requires this document for importing vehicles, which is issued by the NRCS, as well as an Import Permit, which is issued by the ITAC.

Arifu Chama: The person that the shipping agent contacts to notify the confirmed arrival date of the cargo's vessel to the port.

NRCS: National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications; The South African government requires a Letter of Authorization (LOA) for importing vehicles, which is issued by the NRCS, as well as an Import Permit, which is issued by the ITAC.

Orodha ya Ufungashaji: An itemized list included in the shipment that gives the quantity, description, and weight of the contents.

Bandari ya Kuondoka: Sehemu ya kuondoka kwa meli au usafirishaji.

Usafirishaji: The transfer of a shipment from one vessel to another while in transit to its final destination.

Nakala ya TT: Nakala ya Uhamisho wa Telegraphic; nakala ya karatasi ya uhamisho wa benki.

Chini ya Ofa: An offer to purchase the vehicle has been made by a potential buyer, thereby making it unavailable for other customers to make an offer or receive a quote on that vehicle.

Malipo ya ada/ada: Ada ya kupakia na kupata kontena la usafirishaji.

Marudio ya Magari: Nchi ambayo gari itasajiliwa kwa matumizi.

Zampost: Zambia Postal Services Corporation; a public postal operator that sells vehicles on behalf of BE FORWARD at select post offices in Zambia.
